千古传说的动人爱情故事

    梁祝传说产生于晋朝。现存最早的文字材料，是初唐梁载言所撰的《十道四蕃志》。到了晚唐，张读所撰的《宣室志》作了文学性渲染，可见其大致轮廓：“英台，上虞祝氏女，伪为男游学，与会稽梁山伯者同肄业。山伯，字处仁。祝先归。二年，山伯访友，方知其女子，怅然如有所失。告其父母求聘，而祝已字马氏子矣。山伯后为鄞令，病死，葬鄮城西。祝适马氏，舟过墓所，风涛不能进，问知山伯墓，祝登号恸，地忽逢裂陷，祝氏遂并葬焉。晋丞相谢安奏表其墓曰义妇冢。”

    现存较早、也较完整的是宋代明州(今宁波)知府李茂诚的《义忠王庙记》，文中说梁山伯生于公元352年农历三月初一，死于373年农历八月十六，终年21岁，未曾婚配；祝英台出嫁在374年暮春；梁山伯庙(又名“义忠王庙”)修建于397年。如记载可靠，“梁祝传说”当产生在公元374年至397年这20多年内，完全形成则在宋代到清末。此后比较重要的文献记载，还有明代冯梦龙的《李秀卿义结黄贞女》，清代邵金彪的《祝英台小传》，后者出现了化蝶的结局。

    数千年来，中国民间最理想的婚姻模式是：男女两情相悦，再经“父母之命，媒妁之言”，有情人终成眷属。而梁祝传说的悲剧性就在于：有情人未必成眷属，有时还要以生命为代价！

    在千百年的传诵中，梁祝故事所表现的思想、观念、精神逐渐渗透到人们的日常生活中，成为一种独特的“梁祝文化”。正如钟敬文先生所言：“梁祝文化占领了中国几乎所有的剧种、曲艺，为广大民众所喜闻乐见。”这种从歌谣到小说、从电影到戏剧、从曲艺到音乐无处不在的影响力，在中国民间创作中是极为罕见的文化现象。

    梁祝故事在海外也产生了广泛影响。印尼、新加坡、马来西亚、朝鲜等国都出版过梁祝传说的译本或改写本，有10多种版本。最早传播梁祝故事的印尼，还将其列为世界四大著名爱情悲剧之一。
